There are many ways in which you can help and it doesn't necessarily involve jumping off a viaduct, although it can!
This is one of the simplist and most sustainable sources of income for the charity. All you need to do is to ask your local shop keepers whether they would be prepared to have a CFCF collecting box. Once they have agreed, contact the charity treasurer who ensure that a box reaches the shop.
This is probably one of the most important ways in which you can contribute to the charity. Meetings occur once every three months and last for approximately one hour. You do not need to contribute anything, but you will be most welcome to come and share your views on fundraising and funding requests. It's a great way to come and find out what's happening in your local CF community and shape the future of CF care at Sheffield Children's Hospital.
Over the years the charity has held a range of events to generate income. In recent years, these events have ranged from a gentle stroll around Rother Valley Country Park, to abseiling off a viaduct, to an evening dinner event at the Hilton Hotel. The best way to help us raise funds is to look out for our events on this website and to tell your friends and family.
In 2004 we were nominated as Freemans charity of the year. There are many other companies who operate this type of scheme, so if your company does, why not nomiate CFCF for next year. Alternatively if your employer doesn't currently operate such a scheme, then why not start the ball rolling with CFCF.
If you intend to run your own sponsored events on behalf of CFCF, please note that CFCF is registered for Gift Aid. This means that we can reclaim the tax paid on donations by UK tax payers. Please download the CFCF sponsorship form to comply with the guidance provided by the Inland Revenue.
We are always very grateful to receive items which can either be raffled or auctioned off at one of our events. It is these items which raise a substantial proportion of our funds each year and so are very much appreciated.
