History

Sheffield Children's Hospital

Caring for Cystic Fibrosis (CFCF) is a local charity based at the Sheffield Children's Hospital. The charity was formed by a group of parents who saw an immediate need to improve the level of care and support being offered to their children. CFCF has been a registered charity since 1989 and is regulated by the Charity Commission.

CFCF was able to provide funding to establish community physiotherapists and specialist nurses to work out of the Sheffield Children's Hospital (SCH) and provide support to the families, thereby reducing hospital visits. Twenty years later, the needs of the children in Sheffield have now become a part of standard CF care throughout many parts of the country.

CFCF continues to work to support the patients and their families who are cared for by the team at SCH.
